Khirada Hira and her husband from Gargora village are well-known pig suppliers of the area where they live. In 2010, Khirada was given two piglets under ACRD’s STEP project. Over the next few years, the pigs grew big and healthy, and more than 30 piglets from the mother pigs were sold in the market. They were sold at a very good market price and the couple gradually started earning money. Their economic condition has improved and today they are earn about Rs 30,000 per month through the piggery unit owned by them. The couple are an example to many pig farmers in the area.
