Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD) is a registered non-government organisation that came into existence in 1995. Late Dr Lily Mazinder Baruah, a renowned social activist of the North Eastern region and youngest daughter of Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi, first Chief Minister of Assam played a key role in giving birth to ACRD.

ACRD is currently working in various development blocks of Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Baksa, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Lakhimpur and Tamulpur districts of Assam. ACRD has worked in over 700 villages so far, covering different tribal communities, such as the Bodos, Rabhas, Garos, Karbis, Tiwas, Nepali, and also other communities like Adivasi, Scheduled Castes and other Backward Classes.
