Access to clean toilets and safe drinking water in 20 remote schools of Kamrup district, Assam

ACRD partnered with the SBI CAP Securities Pvt. Ltd. under their CSR initiative to improve sanitation and drinking water facilities in 10 remote government schools in Rani and Rampur blocks of Kamrup district, Assam. The project has been able to, reach out to 2,554 school children by constructing hygienic toilets with running water and providing potable drinking water.

ACRD built separate urinals and latrines for boys and girls, installed water purification systems, and constructed 10 toilet blocks. Each block had two urinals for boys and one toilet for girls in six schools, and one urinal for boys and one toilet for girls in four schools. The toilet blocks were officially inaugurated during a ceremony held on June 16, 2024 at Fulguri High School, and are being maintained by the school management committees of the schools. This initiative has greatly enhanced the sanitation and drinking water facilities for the students enrolled in these schools.
