Grassroot Grants Project
In an effort to empower socially and financially disadvantaged women who had dropped out of school, ACRD established a vocational skill development and training center in Barpratima village, Rani Block, Kamrup district. Supported by the Embassy of Japan, the initiative offered courses in tailoring, computer skills, weaving, and spoken English, each lasting six months. Upon completion, market linkages were established to help the trained women sell their products.
The centre was formally inaugurated in April 2017 and currently houses 5 sewing machines, 15 computers, and two sets of looms.
