MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR,

Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD)

At the Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD), our mission is to foster sustainable, inclusive development across rural communities in Assam. Through a rights-based, people-centric approach, we aim to uplift marginalized populations and create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Over the years, ACRD has implemented impactful initiatives such as Gram Saksham, Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels, Access to Justice for Every Child, and programmes focused on sanitation facilities and access to safe drinking water for children in schools, proper infrastructure to rehabilitate girls in need of care and protection. These projects reflect our holistic approach—addressing healthcare, education, legal empowerment, and basic infrastructure to improve quality of life and promote equity.

Our experience has taught us that lasting change comes from the ground up. By working closely with local communities, listening to their needs, and building their capacities, we ensure that development is both relevant and sustainable.

Collaboration is key to our journey. We deeply value the support and partnership of government agencies, civil society organizations, donors, and volunteers. Together, we can scale our efforts, bridge critical service gaps, and reach those most in need.
